Congressman Duffy Visits Neillsville, Final

-A hot topic was pressed upon during Congressman Sean Duffy’s town hall meeting in Neillsville.
One citizen asked about gun control. Other citizens chimed in at that point blaming Democrats for trying to take guns away, insisting that all shootings are done by the mentally ill or those on drugs, and blaming violent video games and movies.
Congressman Duffy believed that “The bill going through the Senate and Congress right now won’t get very far. We don’t need to take people’s guns away; we need to have a conversation on the mentally ill and focus on the cause of these shooting like violent movies and video games.”
He also blamed the Obama Administration and other lawmakers for using the Newtown, CT tragedy for trying to accomplish their goals. He also said, “If you look at these shootings, they always go and attack people that can’t fight back. You never see them come after the capitol where there are armed guards.”
The gun control conversation was very heated during the Congressman’s visit.
