-Several area businesses were recognized for all their great contributions and service in 2012 by the Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce during their recognition banquet on Saturday.

Abby Vans Inc. received the Special Business Salute Award. Dr. Greg Foster said, “The business was started when they recognized a need for transportation in the area, especially for the elderly and disabled.”

A couple employees of the business said, “They are glad to be employed by Abby Vans. It’s a great business.”

Chippewa Valley Technical College receive and Anniversary Salute Award for being in business for 100 years. Dr. Foster said, “The College was started by the workforce when they recognized a need for people to be educated in the new unfolding technologies of the age. Teaching is very difficult, but the employees at CVTC do it very well.”

Bruce Barker, the President of CVTC, said, “He’s glad CVTC has been able to apart of Neillsville and hopes that they’ll be around for the next 100 years.”
