New Police Chief Introduced at Owen City Council Meeting

-The new police chief, a water rate increase, and more were discussed at the Owen City Council Meeting on Tuesday.

The council was introduced to their new police chief, Andrew Schade. Andrew currently lives in the Marshfield area, but has one year to move to Owen. He has officially accepted the position.

Owen will have a 3.2% water rate increase effective March 15th. The increase is due to expenses regarding equipment replacement and water leaks.

The council approved a change order for 24,948 dollars. The change order regarded an S1 structure at the waste water treatment plant. It was removed and replaced.

The 4th quarter payroll report was approved. The report emphasizes overtime in particular and there was minimal overtime in this case.

Finally, Owen Jr. Fair turned in its annual report which includes expenses and income.
