Black River Falls and Pepin Students Learn About Bullying at The Highground

-One hundred sixty Black River Falls and one hundred twenty Pepin, High School students discovered that just because there are no longer signs posted on buildings, buses or bathrooms discrimination is just as prevalent today as in years past.

They say now it is just called something else….”Bullying”….different name same face.

The students spent the day at The Highground Learning Center participating in projects that brought this very real situation to light through the stories, videos and photos of the past. They learned that one person can make a difference, and that just because you are different don’t mean you can’t do great things.

Most people cannot be mean without others to back them up, but one person can be nice and change the world, all on their own.

Students discussed and wrote out plans of action; they can take to make changes in their schools, communities and personal lives.
