-The man involved in a shooting in Jackson County last week is now behind bars after he hurt three police officers.

The shooting occurred in the City of Taylor when Robert Schafer, age 25, violated a restraining order and went onto the property of Lori Peterson, age 44.

Jarrod Thompson, age 31, a man at Peterson’s home, warned Schafer to stop after he was threatened by Schafer, but when he refused Thompson shot Schafer.

Schafer was taken to the hospital in La Crosse, but the sheriff says he ran away and ended up in Black River Falls.

When deputies went to arrest him, he fought and injured three of them.

He's now in the Jackson County Jail.
