-Clark County Emergency Management along with Regional Planning has plans to bring Natural Hazards Awareness to Wisconsin.

With the flooding that occurred earlier this year, the Clark Emergency Management Department and Regional Planning were able to acquire a grant that will allows them to run several projects to bring awareness to the county.

The project will be broken down into three phases: general public awareness, weather radio distribution, and local officials’ awareness.

The handful of members from various establishments, like the health department, Memorial Medical Center, and library, plan on rolling out a visual display and showing them at various libraries throughout the county. The display may include things on what to do if natural disasters occur, such as tornados, blizzards, flooding, and others.

The committee also wants to show residents that it doesn’t have to be an expensive investment to prepare for a disaster and show the simple things that can be done to prepare.

Make sure you keep your eyes open when the new year comes along as the Awareness Project will start to take shape and roll out into local communities.
