Dental Insurance, Budget Amendment, and Vacation Days Discussed at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council had a busy night during their Tuesday meeting.

The board approved the renewal of the Dental Insurance Contract for city employees.

The board also approved an item regarding a 2012 budget amendment. This amendment involved the transfer of funds from the Health Insurance Account to the Public Safety Account, specifically dealing with the Fire Department.

This item in the 2012 budget was adopted before the insurance change took place, which affected the Fire Department’s budget and their need for funds regarding their vehicles. By moving the funds from the Health Insurance into the Public Safety, it wouldn’t affect the 2012 or 2013 budget because the money is already there and included in both budgets.

Finally, the board approved the carry-over of 6 unused vacation days for Neillsville Police Officer Klueckmann. He was unable to use those days due to the Neillsville Police department being short staffed.
