SNOWMOBILE TRAILS OPEN
Monday, January 24th, 2005 -- 12:37 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

The snow on Friday night and Saturday morning was enough to get snowmobile trails open here in Clark County.

According to the forestry and parks department, conditions on the trails are fair, but caution is advised on plowed fields and cornfields because there wasn’t quite enough snow to cover some of them – plus, there was a lot of blowing snow on Saturday.

Trails were groomed on Saturday and officials opened as of 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

Clark County received a uniform 6 to 8 inches of snow.

This is the earliest the trails have been open in at least 4 years.

Unfortunately, the snow will be tested this week, as temps are expected to rise to around 35 Tuesday and hover around the freezing mark for the rest of the week.
