State Cross Country Meet Wrap

The 100th running of the State Cross Country meet produced a number of repeat team and individual champions at the The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday.
The meet was delayed one hour because of frost on the course with almost ideal conditions by the time the first race began at noon.
Darlington repeated as boys team champion in Division 3 The Redbirds scored 50 points, 44 points fewer than runner-up Boscobel. Cordell Kapusta of Neillsville finished 36th. Spring Valley won the Division 3 girls team championship. They won the team competition with a score of 108, narrowly edging runner-up Darlington with 110 points.
Dodgeville/Mineral Point won its third straight Division 2 girls team championship with a score of 84. Notre Dame finished second with 98 points. Shorewood captured the Division 2 boys team championship for the third time in the last four seasons with 80 points. Freedom finished second with 91 points.
Madison West won the Division 1 boys team championship with 80 points, Madison La Follette was second with 108 points. Arrowhead captured it second straight girls Division 1 crown with 41 points. Neenah finished second for the third straight year.
