Wisconsin Rapids Police Officer Released from Hospital

-The Wisconsin Rapids officer that got into an accident over the weekend has been released from the hospital.
Douglas Vanberkel, age 23, was on his way to help Nekoosa officers when he lost control of his squad car and slammed into a wall.
The officer had been taken by helicopter to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
