Withee Man Dies After Being Hit by Car

-A Withee man has died after being struck by a car.
Ronald Sperling, age 73, was traveling north on Highway 73 when he struck a deer with his vehicle.
Sperling got out of his vehicle to look for the deer and a co-worker that had been following Sperling had also stopped to help.
As the two men crossed the road to look in the opposite ditch for the animal, Sperling, who was following his co-worker, was hit by a vehicle hading south.
Sperling was transported to the Memorial Health Center in Medford, then to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. His injuries were too much and he was pronounced dead just after 10:00.
The Gilman police, ambulance, and fire department responded to the report as well as the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department.
