5th Graders Have Fun at The Highground

-Warm temperatures and sunny skies welcomed 460 5th graders at the Highground last week.
The fifth graders came from Colby, Colby St. Mary’s, Abbottsford, Gilman, Greenwood, Greenwood St. Mary’s, Loyal, St. Anthony’s of Loyal, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Thorp, St. Bernard’s of Thorp, Stanley, Merrillan-Lincoln, and Augusta.
The group learned about patriotism and service to Country and honoring Veterans-past, present and future.
Veterans from the Clark County Area Veterans’ Council welcomed the students as the school busses arrived.
Students were given an educational tour by the staff of The Highground accompanied by the veterans.
Milk and cookies were provided by the Clark County Area Veterans’ Council as well as a desk-top style American flag and ruler.
The students were also given hands-on experience on flag etiquette, learning how to fold and handle the American flag.
