Future of Taxi Service Discussed at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council discussed the outcome of a public hearing held by the Transit Committee and their meeting on Tuesday.

The man discussion was on the operation project grant applications at the future of Neillsville’s and Clark County’s Taxi Service.

The service is now providing over 100 rides per month which is better than Clark County’s goal of 75. And Neillsville’s is providing over 1,000 rides per month.

The Transit Committee is working very hard to come up with a solution that would allow the city and county to keep their taxi service.

One suggestion was adding the City of Stanley, who was very receptive to the idea. This would allow the county and city to fall back under the transportation grant that is need to keep the service running.

The future of the service will be determined by the county board.
