A Crash in Black River Falls

-Jackson County authorities responded to a crash Friday afternoon.
Just before 4:00 on Friday, Sheriff's authorities and Black River Falls EMS/Fire responded to County Highway O and Interstate 94 in the Township of Millston, for a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, authorities found that a motorcycle had exited the Interstate traveling eastbound at mile post 128.
Authorities stated that the motorcycle missed the paved portion of the exit traveling in the grassy area between the exit ramp and the Interstate heading towards County Highway O. The motorcycle then encountered an embankment in the ditch which sent the operator of the motorcycle airborne. The cyclist impacted a street sign before landing on the opposite side of the roadway.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and has been identified as 23-year-old John Becktel of Black River Falls.
