Neillsville Boys Basketball Team Takes First

The Neillsville Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team finished on top of the Southern Division of the Central Wisconsin Boys’ Basketball Summer League with a record of eight wins and three losses.
The summer season ended last Sunday with a tournament held at Neillsville High School. Competing schools included: Black River Falls, Augusta, Medford, Colby, Marshfield Columbus, Arcadia, and Neillsville. Neillsville ended the evening by playing Medford in the Championship, but were defeated in a close game.
Members of the Neillsville team are Matt Dux, Hank Knoll, Logan Mabie, Kyle Klieforth, Nick Thoma, Sam Neville, Mike Dux, Kyle Hauge, Matt Grottke, Neal Matson, Donovan Harris, Josh Lis, and Rick Nelson.
The Junior Varsity Team also finished well with only one loss this summer. Team members included: Devon Opelt, Josh Opelt, Nathan Peterson, Nolan Matson, Matthew Vornholt, Jahean McGhee, Jason Kurth, Jacob Kunze and Josh Tomlin.
