-Community members had an opportunity to weigh in on important issues regarding veterans yesterday in Loyal and Neillsville.

Scott Suder and his guests Dave Ross, Secretary of the Department of Safety and John Scocos, of the Department of Veteran Affairs, informed veterans and community members what they have done for those that served and what they plan to do in the future.

Suder, Ross, and Scocos all highlighted benefits for veterans. Scocos mentioned improving veteran hospitals, training and education for veterans to get them working when they return home, having more outreach for veterans, and much more.

Ross talked about making sure military training counts as experience for returning veterans looking for work.

And Suder highlighted several bills that were passed in the past legislative session.

Questions from veterans included outreach for soldiers suffering from PTS, disability benefits, loan returns, educational benefits, and more.

Scott Suder was presented a certificate by Dave Ross and John Scocos for his work for veterans in the last legislative session.
