LOYAL BOARD VOWS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH STUDY
Thursday, January 12th, 2006 -- 2:36 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

It appears a “long-range planning” study between the Greenwood and Loyal school districts will happen. The TRG reported in December the Loyal Board of Education set a January 15th deadline for Greenwood to agree to hire an outside agency to conduct the study – originally referred to as a “consolidation feasibility study”.

While both boards agreed to take part in the study, there had been disagreements on how the study should be conducted: Loyal wants to hire one outside agency and Greenwood wants to utilize a number of agencies to collect and decipher data.

Loyal Superintendent Graeme Williams tells WCCN/WPKG News the board discussed the issue Wednesday night and reaffirmed their committment to move forward with the study, despite not having firm details yet.

Williams will meet with his Greenwood counterpart, Marcia Hochalter, on January 26th; they hope to come agreements at that time.
