-Sunny skies and warm temperatures welcomed hundreds of visitors to The Highground on May 28th for the Memorial Day Celebration.

The replica liberty bell tolled as color guards from Neillsville American Legion Post 73 and the Loyal American Legion Post 175 presented their colors.

Guests were welcomed by Volunteer General Manager Kirk Rodman. The Invocation was given by Pastor Al Houts followed by guest speaker, Howard Sherpe from Westby.

A young volunteer led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Miles Voss led visitors in singing the Star Spangled Banner and Kelsey Rueth played taps on the trumpet.

The names of all the Wisconsin men and women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan were read aloud upholding the promise by The Highground to honor their ultimate sacrifice and not let them go in silence.
