-Kaci Susa and Isabel Kapusta are ready for adventures in babysitting.

These girls, both 11 years of age, recently completed the babysitting training class at Memorial Medical Center. The class prepares children for staying home alone by covering topics such as fire safety, important emergency contacts and procedures, cooking techniques, and basic first aid. “I really hope to be able to babysit my two younger cousins soon,” commented Kaci.

During the one-day class, students are visited by the Neillsville Fire Department. Students are taught the proper way to use a fire extinguisher, and given the opportunity to put out a small fire. The babysitting course is designed to go beyond everyday knowledge.

Memorial Medical Center is offering the babysitter training class again this summer on Saturday, June 16th and Saturday, July 21st from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
