The Greenwood Indian baseball team improved to 9-0 on the season with a 7-1 win at Neillsville on Thursday.

Greenwood got the scoring started in the top of the 2nd on a 2 RBI triple by Jeff Rachu. Freshman lefthander, Nathan Peterson of Neillsville was able hold Greenwood from scoring again until the 5th inning when the Indians executed two perfect suicide squeeze bunts to score 2 runs and then they scored 3 more times in the 6th to seal the win.

Peterson went 5 2/3 for the Warriors allowing all 7 runs on 9 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 4 in the game. Offensively for Neillsville, who could only muster 4 hits off Greenwood starter Derek Sterland, 3B Chris Mashin had the only RBI, a run scoring single in the 6th.

Sterland finished with 7 strikeouts and just one walk. 3B Kole Hinker finshed 2-3 with a run scored and RF Wes Wuetrich finished 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Greenwood.
