Abbotsford Welcomes DI, LLC.

-Decorator Industries of Abbotsford celebrated its reopening into DI, LLC on Friday.
Decorator Industries, a Florida-based manufacturer of custom interior furnishing products since 1953, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Dan Hannula, the general manager of Decorator Industries, approached a potential buyer that wanted to liquidize the factor and move the operation and jobs to Las Vegas.
Unable to bear the thought of losing the jobs and the company, Hannula and his wife, Joan, decided to purchase the plant themselves.
"We didn't want to see it disappear," Hannula, 60, said. "We decided, 'Let's try to do this on our own.'"
DI, LLC will continue offering the same services, mainly designing, cutting and sewing window treatments and bed coverings for the hospitality and health care sectors.
Hannula and his wife had a lot of outside help in their purchase deal. Besides contributing their own cash, they got financing through their bank, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. and the Regional Business Fund.
The offices of state Rep. Scott Suder and Gov. Scott Walker even got involved in the effort to keep the jobs in central Wisconsin.
