A Marshfield Rotarian has been awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award. Pete Latzer was given the award last Thursday.

"He is very involved," says Bob Trussoni of the Marshfield Sunrise Rotary Club. "Just in general, he's pretty involved in whatever is going with Rotary."

Rotary International is a worldwide humanitarian organization. They’re perhaps most known for their fight against polio – a disease that they’ve helped nearly eradicate from the planet. With that battle is nearly over, Trussoni ays they’ve starting to switch focus.

"One thing that we're starting to look at now is (supplying) clean water for other countries where they don't have a good source for drinking water," Trussoni says. "We're presently looking at some countries in Africa, South America, Haiti."

Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 167 countries.
