The Highground Hosts First Reunion/Education Night

-The Highground had its first reunion and education night on the Persian Gulf War yesterday evening.
June Berg, the Learning Center Coordinator, came up with the idea while she was setting up other events. "I had so many veterans come up to me and say they lost contact with someone they served with or they wanted to reconnect with others veterans that have served. I thought a reunion night would be a good way to do that."
I also had many people tell me that they lost their grandfather, uncle, brother, etc and they never got a chance to record the stories they told. I thought these nights would be a good way to archive this information because we are losing are verterans everyday."
June hopes that these reunion nights will help veterans with the healing process, the mission of The Highground, and that community members can hear from veterans what it was like for them.
This is the first year that The Highground is having its reunion and education nights, but June certainly hopes to continue the events from year to year. The next reunion and education night is April 9th for the Civil War.
