Black River Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual Dinner

-The Black River Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner last night.
This particular dinner was a little different than most as participants were strongly encouraged to dress in Western themed clothing. Chamber director Barbara Brower choose to go a different route with the dinner so people “can find out more information on the chamber of commerce and the different activities and day to day things that they do.”
Many local businesses also donated items for the silent auction. The funds raised from the auction will help pay for the dinner itself and for future events the chamber will put on.
Two businesses were recognized for their excellence. Molly’s Rude Awakening was voted Business of the Year. Brower said she loved the “Give Back Tuesday” event the business put one. “A portion of the funds from beverages bought on Tuesday goes into a “kitty” and then that amount is donated to a local business. They’ve raised over $10,500 dollars to for various organizations.” Brower said.
WWIS Radio was voted Best Customer Service of the Year. Brower said, “WWIS donates air time for community events and programs. It helps messages get to citizens about their community.
