Owen-Withee Wins 4th in Rube Goldberg Contest

-The Owen-Withee Math Team won 4th place in the Rube-Goldberg Machine Contest.
This past Saturday, they attended the National level of the contest in Grand Rapids Michigan and won 4th place for their “How to Train Your Dragon” themed device that popped a balloon in 28 steps.
The team left at 8:00 Friday morning and drove over 9 hours to make it to the contest. They arrived at 6:30 in order to get their machine set up and in perfect working order. They competed against 12 other teams.
The students returned home yesterday at 5:00 in the afternoon and were even treated like heroes, being escorted into town by the Owen Police and Fire departments.
Marilyn Jaskot, the Owen-Withee Math teacher, said she “is very proud of her students and they seemed to have a good time.”
