Local Man Charged With Possession

-A local man was charged with possession over the weekend.
Two patrons at a local bar flagged down a city police officer and informed him that Andrew Shields had just offered them weed.
While the officer was speaking with the two individuals, Shields emerged from the bar and asked if anyone would like to smoke some cigarettes. The officer then asked Shields if he could pat him down and if he had any illegal substances.
The answer was yes to both.
Shields informed the officer that a friend had given him the marijuana and he didn’t like to smoke alone so he was offering it to others in the bar.
Shields was placed under arrest and taken to the sheriff’s office. He was given a citation for Possession of THC and has a future court date of April 12 and a forfeiture of $263.50
