Loyal School District Strives to Be Leader of Technology in the Classroom

-According to the TRG, Loyal School District Administrator, Cale Jackson, will continue to make plans for putting a hand-held computer device into the hands of students in the elementary school.

The Board of Education told Jackson to continue to look into the option that would make Loyal a leader in technology in the classroom. Jackson attended a conference discussing technology in the classroom and believed that, since technology would be coming to all schools anyway, Loyal might as well lead the pack.

Jackson has drawn up a tentative plan to equip students in Kindergarten and 1st grade with iPads and grades 2-6 with small computer notepads. The cost could range from 50 to 60 thousand dollars depending on the model selected.
Jackson’s idea is not to put the cost all on one year’s budget, but to spread it out over the next few years. He is also hoping that he can use some grant money on them as well.
