Phillip Opelt at 113 and Dan Schoen at 195 both won their preliminary matches last night at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament in Madison.

Results for Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal from Thursday’s preliminary round:
At 113-pounds Phillip Opelt (46-5) beat Wittenberg-Birnamwood\'s Bobby Uttecht 12-2
At 195- Dan Schoen (52-1) pinned Jace Simonson of Richland Center in :59 seconds
Damien Luchterhand (37-0) will wrestle his 152-pound quarterfinal against Kyndle Bennett (42-7) of Delavan-Darien.
Mitchell Pohlman (41-10) lost his 160-pound preliminary match and was eliminated from the tournament.

Other area wrestlers:
Spencer/Columbus 's Dan Schubert (35-4) won his 160-pound match and Nick Vaughan (42-2) also won at 220 pounds.
At 285- Abbotsford/Colby’s Chris Ladwig (40-3) is in the quarterfinals
