Man Dies After Wood Co. Shooting Accident

The victim of a Sunday morning shooting near Wisconsin Rapids has died.
31-year-old Nick Hoffmann of Wisconsin Rapids was pronounced dead Monday at a Marshfield hospital after he was shot in the neck just before 3 a.m. at a home in Grand Rapids.
Authorities believe the shooting may have been accidental. A 21-year-old man was booked into Wood County Jail on suspicion of recklessly endangering safety and was released after posting $2,500 bond. His initial court appearance is set for Jan. 23.
The shooting remains under investigation and an autopsy has been ordered.
