Snow, Ice Lead to Dozens of Accidents
Monday, December 5th, 2011 -- 11:28 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
Area drivers haven't adjusted to winter driving.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department responded to 34 accidents and slide-ins Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Officials say drivers just need to slow down. If you have four-wheel drive, don’t expect that will protect you on slick roads.
Our listening area was right on the fringe of a pretty good-sized storm that dropped about 3-6 inches of new snow from southeast Minnesota, all the way to U.P.
Points southeast of Neillsville received significantly less snow than points west and northeast.
The WisDOT's road condition report lists several major roads as snow covered or having slippery stretches.
