House Fire Near Medford Kills Two

A second person has died as a result of a Friday night house fire near Medford.
Eric Motte, 82, was killed when his house burned Friday night. His wife, Marie, 55, was also injured and airlifted to the UW-Madison Medical Center’s Burn Unit, where she was pronounced dead Saturday.
Authorities say a garbage fire grew out of control due to dry, windy conditions and spread to the couple’s garage and house. The couple could not escape.
No foul play is suspected.
