High pressure and warm southerly flow helped turn October warmer and drier than usual.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse says the average temperature for the month was 53.7 degrees, which was about 3.5 degrees above normal.

The average high was 65.1 degrees.

A record high of 83 degrees was set on October 8th.

About 1.63 inches of rain was measured in the month, a half-inch below normal.

November is a month of big changes as the average high temperature drops from 52 degrees on the 1st, to 35 degrees by the 30th. We can also expect to see about four inches of snow this month.
