MOTIONS HEARING FOR KOULA
Monday, October 31st, 2011 -- 11:29 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Another day in court for a Neillsville graduate accused of killing his parents last year.

Eric Koula’s attorneys and prosecutors were in court Monday arguing over a number of motions. The judge’s ruling on the motions will lay the groundwork for the lengthy jury trial that’s scheduled to start in early December.

Prosecutors allege the cash-strapped Koula shot his parents, Dennis and Myrna Koula, in their Barre Mills home in May, 2010.

Among the motions filed by Koula’s defense team are a request that the state not be allowed to offer testimony about statements his parents made to others about ending their financial support of their son and any testimony about Eric Koula’s financial affairs.

The jury trial is slated to begin on December 5.
