TAXES STEADY IN THE CITY OF NEILLSVILLE

City of Neillsville residents shouldn’t expect much change to their tax bills this year.
The proposed 2012 tax levy stays the same as last year, at $1,075,000.
Overall expenditures will actually drop nearly one percent to $3,223,000.
According to Finance Committee minutes, budget-writers kept the levy the same by using about $21,000 in city funds to pay down the levy.
While the levy will remain the same, the tax rate could increase because the city’s valuation has decreased.
The budget hearing will be held at 7:15 p.m. on November 8th.
