HOME SALES INCREASE FROM '10 TO '11
Monday, August 22nd, 2011 -- 12:18 pm Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
As expected, the sales of existing homes in Wisconsin increased 34.4 percent over July of last year, and the median house price fell 5.9 percent to $139,900.
Officials with the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) anticipated the big improvement in sales: last July’s numbers were extremely low as the federal homebuyer's tax credit expired.
The median price of existing homes dropped nearly six percent over the July 2010 to July 2011 period.
Here in Clark County, the median home price in July was $76,750. Data from last July is not available. There were 14 sales in Clark County this July, compared to eight last year, a 75 percent increase.
