WOMAN KILLED IN TRAIN ACCIDENT

There’s been a fatal train accident in Monroe County.
It happened just after 9 p.m. Sunday night outside of Sparta.
Deputies say they received a call from the Canadian Pacific Railroad saying a train had hit a car at the crossing on Iberia Avenue. When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found a vehicle on the north side of the tracks with a female inside. Officers say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name has not been released.
