NO CLARK CO. POST OFFICES ON LATEST CUT LIST

It looks like the area will be spared in the latest round of post office closings.
As we’ve reported, the Unites States Postal Service is trying to cut billions of dollars from their budget. One of their strategies is to close little-used rural post offices.
They’re nearly finished with the process of closing a location in Humbird.
On Tuesday, they released a list of thousands of other post offices around the country that will be in the next wave of closings.
41 post offices in Wisconsin made the list.
The nearest to us are the offices in Millston in Jackson County, Babcock in Wood County and Lublin in Taylor County.
Communities that may lose a post office can start so-called “Village Post Offices,” which would be operated by local businesses and offer products and services such as stamps and flat-rate packaging.
