APPARENT HOMICIDE/SUICIDE IN PORT EDWARDS

An apparent homicide/suicide occurred in the Village of Port Edwards around 1:00 AM on Saturday, July 23rd. The male/female couple were husband and wife and had resided in the Village of Port Edwards for about 8 weeks. There were no signs of a struggle between the two people at the scene. The male subject was 48 year old Steven M. Haller and the female subject was 42 year old Ann W. Haller. A small caliber handgun was used that was purchased by Ann Haller. The incident was investigated by the Wood County Coroner's Office, Wood County Sheriff's Department, and the Port Edwards Police Department. The couple sent text messages to kin prior to the incident.
