OBEY TO BE CHALLENGED

The press secretary for a Kansas congressman is challenging Dave Obey for his Seventh District seat. Twenty-five-year-old Nick Reid was born in Douglas County and has lived there for most of his live before moving to Washington. He and his wife bought a home in Rice Lake last week. Since forming an exploratory committee five months ago, the Republican says he's traveled the district and made thousands of phone calls to gauge support. With 36 years of service, Obey is the senior member of Wisconsin's congressional delegation. Reid says people of the district have told him they're ready for a change.
