TEENAGE BOYS DIES IN SWIMMING MISHAP

A teenage boy died while swimming yesterday in the Chippewa River in Eau Claire.
WEAU-TV reports the victim was swimming in the area near Phoenix Park when he went under and didn't come back up.
A dive team was called out at around 7:30 p.m. They found the 15 to 16 year-old and transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead around 8:50 p.m.
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor and the incident is still under investigation.
The victim's name has not been released.
