NEILLSVILLE AND THORP REGIONAL CHAMPS

The Neillsville girls softball team won their 13th in a row downing Marathon 8-0 in their Regional Final Thursday while Thorp beat Gilman 7-5. Both advance to Sectionals on Tuesday. Neillsville (18-6) banged out 11 hits in the win and Courtney Poeschel recorded another win as the Warriors advance to play Stevens Point Pacelli at Necedah on Tuesday. Game time is 4 pm and you can hear it live on 1370 AM WCCN. Thorp improved to 18-8 with their win and they will now go against McDonell Tuesday in Gilman at 5 pm. Other Sectional matchups on Tuesday include:
Division 1:
Hudson at Chippewa Falls
Merrill at D.C. Everest
Oshkosh West at Stevens Point (Zenoff Park)
Division 2:
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau vs. Baldwin-Woodville at Black River Falls - 5 p.m.
Rice Lake at Medford Area - 5 p.m.
Division 3:
Laona/Wabeno vs. Iola-Scandinavia at Gillett - 4:30 p.m.
Neillsville vs. Pacelli at Necedah - 4 p.m.
(winners play next Friday in the Sectional Final at Pacelli)
Division 4:
McDonell Central vs. Thorp at Gilman - 5 p.m.
Rosholt at Athens - 5 p.m.
