WIAA STATE TRACK AND FIELD MEET STARTS FRIDAY

The 116th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Track and Field Championships and the 41st Girls Track and Field Championships will be held Friday and Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The meet features two sessions Friday. The Division 2 and 3 events begin at 9:30 a.m. with the competition proceeding in the order of events. Division 1 events begin at 4:30 p.m. The competition resumes Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The order of the finals for each event Saturday begins with Division 3, followed by Divisions 2 and 1, respectively.

DIVISION 1 -BOYS: La Crosse Central and Brookfield East lead the Division in the number of entries with 14, including relays. Arrowhead has 13, and Green Bay Preble and Verona have 11 entries.
DIVISION 2 -BOYS: Freedom has the most entries with nine, which includes relays. Aquinas and Monroe have eight entries, while Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Platteville and Whitewater have seven.
DIVISION 3 -BOYS: Gilman has 11 entries including relays to lead the division. Edgar claims nine entries, while Iola-Scandinavia has eight.

DIVISION 1 -GIRLS: Arrowhead has the most entries in the meet with 15, which includes relay teams. Brookfield Central has 14 entries, and Kimberly and Neenah have 11.
DIVISION 2 -GIRLS: Osceola had the distinction of having the most entries with nine, including relays. Little Chute had eight entries, and Aquinas, Bloomer, East Troy, McFarland, Notre Dame and Rice Lake all have seven.
DIVISION 3 -GIRLS: Defending champion Edgar heads the list of entries with 15, including relays, followed by St. Mary’s Springs with 12, Wild Rose with 11, and then Frederic and Manitowoc Lutheran with nine.
