UNEMPLOYMENT DOWN IN CLARK CO.

The unemployment rate dropped in all of Wisconsin's major cities in April and plummeted in Clark County.
Data released Wednesday from the Department of Workforce Development shows all 31 of the state's major municipalities saw a drop in unemployment rates from March to April.
70 of 72 counties saw their jobless rate improve; only Iron and Menominee counties saw jumps.
Here in Clark County, the jobless rate dropped 1.5 percentage points from 9.9% in March to 8.4% in April. Clark County’s rank fell from 24th highest in March to 29th in April. The 8.4% rate is more than a full point higher than the state unemployment rate of 7.3%.
Menominee had the highest rate of any county in the state at 16.8%. Dane County had the lowest at 4.9%.
National unemployment for April rose to 9%.
