PRISON INMATE SENTENCED FOR MURDER-FOR-HIRE PLOT

A 53-year-old Jackson Correction Institution inmate will be an inmate for a lot longer after he was he was convicted of paying another inmate to kill his ex-wife and her family.

Ronnie Thums was sentenced Friday in Jackson County Court to 30 years in prison.

Court documents show Thums offered to pay the other inmate $10,000 to kill Thums' ex-wife, her current husband and any children in the home.

Thums, formerly of Oshkosh, was serving a five-year prison term at the Black River Falls facility for stalking an ex-girlfriend.
