ARMBRUST SENTENCED FOR JUDGE THREATS

Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A 42-year-old Neillsville woman will spend some time behind bars for threatening Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsell.

Lori Armbrust threatened to kill Counsell in a letter he received back in February.

In the letter, Armbrust refers to Counsell as a number of derogatory names and writes, “I want to stab you 200 times or until you are dead, which ever comes first.”

A judge Friday sentenced her to 2 years in prison and 2 years extended supervision, but stayed the sentence. Instead, she’ll spend six months in the Clark County Jail and serve 3 years of probation.

She’ll have to submit to treatment, take her medications and have no contact with Judge Counsell.
