FLU CASES ON THE RISE

Public health officials are urging Wisconsinites to be vaccinated as the flu season reaches its peak in the state.
Tom Haupt with the Wisconsin Division of Health epidemiologist says it's not too late to get a flu shot. It takes two weeks after getting the shot for your body to develop immunity. That means the shot will prevent late season flu cases.
For the first time, medical centers are required to report flu-related hospitalizations. So far this season, 312 flu cases have required hospitalization.
The CDC estimated at least 160 million doses of vaccine would be available.
