ANOTHER STEP TOWARD POSSIBLE RE-VOTE IN GRANTON

We could know in the next week if voters in the Granton School District will have to redo their Primary Election.
11 candidates are vying for 2 spots on the April ballot. Last week’s Primary ballot directed voters to choose 4 candidates; it should have read “vote for not more than 2” candidates.
A recount, requested by candidate David Johannson, was conducted Wednesday. The results are immaterial, other than it proved there were more votes cast than there should have been. Following the procedure laid out by the Government Accountability Board, Johannson has already requested the minutes of the recount. He has until next Wednesday to petition Clark County Circuit Court for a remedy to the error, possibly a re-vote of district residents.
The recount showed John W. Richmond, Doug Eichten, Omar S. Young and Terry Foss were the top vote-getters, with Foss getting one more vote than 5th place finishers James Chadwick.
