GRANTON SCHOOL ELECTION RESULTS IN DOUBT

It looks like a wording mistake on Tuesday’s ballot will lead to a revote in the Granton School District.
11 candidates were vying for four spots on the April Ballot where two seats will be filled.
The ballot directed voters to vote for “not more than 4” candidates; it should have read “vote for not more than 2.”
Following advice from the Government Accountability Board, the vote was certified. Now at least one candidate has formally requested a recount. That recount will prove the election was mishandled, so the candidate may then file a complaint with the Circuit Court. A judge could then order the election be done over.
