HOUSE FIRE IN TOWN OF LEVIS
Thursday, February 10th, 2011 -- 1:52 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire Thursday morning.

According to Fire Chief Matt Meyer, the crew was called to N988 Fairgrounds Avenue in the Town of Levis at about 10:48 a.m.

It appears the fire started in the attic of the home.

Meyer says the homeowner was able to get a hose into the attic and began suppressing the blaze before the crews arrived; it probably prevented major damage to the home.

The crew spent about one hour on the scene. There were no injuries and damage to the home was relatively minor.
