A self-described “vigilante” is in trouble after authorities say he shot a man’s dog as it was lying inside a home.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says the incident happened on February 1st, in the township of Adams near Hatfield. 51-year-old Kevin Oligny, upset over a $20 debt he said the dog’s owner owed him, allegedly shot the dog and threatened the home’s occupants.

Oligny is facing several charges including endangering safety through reckless use of a firearm, and cruelty to animals resulting in death.
